finally something to show *** FINISHED ***
not been doing as much as i'd have liked to be honest.due to a long term spinal injury i'am unfortunatly spending most of my time flat out in bed and can only manage short periods at my bench before pain forces me to stop once more
i have however managed to get something done:-
front of fuselarge chopped and bulkhead and engine mounts installed, the mounts came from a dragon ta 152 kit
wheel wells opened up and wing spar made and inserted.
rear moulded in canopy and deck detail removed,i have a spare academy canopy which fits pretty well.
sourced a suitable engine from my spares box, think its from a revell ju88 which was salvaged from my sons old damaged kits.it needs a little dressing up but should look ok once installed.
lots still to do but hopefull of finishing before years end.
all the best for now

Re: finally something to show
many thanks for all your input and kind remarks.
work around here is moving on very slowly but a little step nearer the goal
engine dressed up a little, exhausts, supercharger, pipework etc
engine lh side
engine rh side with good view of blower from my spares dept(formerly from a revell dornier 335)
exhausts of unknown origin, but seem to fit and look ok.
the packers made from sheet styrene to pack out the exhaust stacks had to be cut through three planes, kinda like small pizza slices but a slight compound angle on one side, were a very irritating but nessessary challange and seemed to take ages.
i'm still not 100% convinced it'll all line up perfectly,we'll see later.
still loadsa pluming and small tanks to make and fit, not to mention the guns ect.
many thanks for looking in,more next time.
regards

cheers bruce
i really would like to be "fitting in" a little more, however my recent health problems really are keeping me away from my bench
however i'm still fairly confident i'll be able to finish for years end

Re: finally something to show
all done matey
although i did have a week in hospital since last posting and didn't get back to my bench until boxing day
work then became so frenzied i totally forgot to take build snaps so you'll all just have to make do with the finished article "sorry"
canopy and terribley frustrating decals from academy(spinner spirral impossible!)
p.e. leftover from a dragon kit
engine block x revell i think
hyperdermic needles for gun barrells
still needs a flat coat and maybe some weathering although my weathering skills really need to improve
anyway heres the pics, please feel free to criticise and advise as you see fit.
thanks to all and happy new year,
shaun
p.s just noticed i havn't shown engine and gun covers,i'll post a piccy tommorrow as i've got relatives coming round for new year celebrations right now

Re: finally something to show
A beautiful piece of work, Shaun. Lovely.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale
Re: finally something to show
thanks very much jeff.
i really have enjoyed this,my first gb.
i'am at the moment looking through my stash with a view of joining the twin boom gb,i have at least 4 kits that'd qualify.whatever i choose will built oob but with more attention to weathering ect as i feel this to be an area i need to improve.
maybe something with a nmf watch this space.
all the best
