A continuation of the initial 'Basil Brush Twin Boom' thread from GB Chat.

Here sign-up for the 'Boom! Boom!' GB, state your entry, chat with others who are joining the GB.

I have to admit:
- I'm not sure Boom! Boom! is a noise you may want to hear on New Years Day :-D ... and
- I had to go to Wikipedia to figure out who Basil Brush is (good one, Martin!!)

Your GB Leader is Martin R, who will post the details here shortly .... but in the main we are looking at aircraft with twin tail booms ...

I hope to do my Novo D.H.Vampire for this, or I have the Airfix P38 flown by Major T.B.McGuire, the WWII Ace.

I am in. Deciding on the Airfix Fw189, Heller Vampire, SH Fw189 or Hasegawa P38. Lessee.

Special Hobby 1/72nd scale Saab J-21A.

Limited run mixed-media kit (injection, resin, etched, film).

Four decal options, all Swedish. I'll be building the colourful one on the box.

I've been itching to start this since I picked it up at Telford. Roll on January 1st.

It's a shark-mouth, twin-boom aircraft. A twofer!

Hmmm! As I'm leading this GB, I guess I'd better say: "I'm in!".

My initial thought was to do a FROG Lightning to keep Brews company, and I may still do this. However, I'm still in (nearly) post-Boston shock, so I may not. I may do a CAK instead: a Monogram 1/72 P-82 Twin Mustang, and this would be essentially oob.

Another thing I was keeping an eye out for was a Dragon or FROG P-61 but I wasn't able to source either affordably.

Martin

Yep, couldn't have said it any better myself! Any scale, any era. I can't immediately think of any ambiguities with this but if you have any questions, ask away!

Please introduce your build threads with your name, and what you intend to build but, apart from that, have at it and have fun!

Martin

What happened to the DH-2 you mentioned in the initial thread ? (Although I have to admit to reservations on my pick given the complexity of the kit, the short timeframe, and 2nd eye surgery now scheduled for 6 Jan.)

Well, I've just bought an Academy OV-10D in Desert Storm markings, which is a bit out of my usual line, but I've always thought the Bronco looked quite cool and almost WWII in its design. I may therefore do a second entry alongside the Monogram F-82. Now looking for an Airfix P-61, but I'm unlikely to finish two entries, never mind three!

Martin

Fair question, John.
Consider the Venom as a warm-up exercise.
