James' Argosy Odyssey
Looking through my stash spreadsheet I noticed this and thought hey that's got twin booms. Before my sanity kicks in I give you the Welsh Models 1/144 AW Argosy!
Now as it is a vacform I am starting this GB with a good idea I may not finish, but it is good motivation to get one of several WM vacforms I have on the shelf. This one came with Aeroclub props which is nice. I had originally intended to do a RAF transport variant but after watching the some a DVD of SBAC/Farnborough shows from the 50/60's I am mighty tempted to do the very shiny demonstration model. Maybe I'd be better off acquiring the civil variant of the kit with appropriate decals.

Re: James' Argosy Odyssey
I've got the Warpaint datafile and after having a flick through looking at the profiles I was sorely tempted to do one with a checked rear fuselage and rudders I've settle on the RAF Far East stone/D.earth combo as I think the Argosy and the Beverley both look mighty fine in this get up.
I've also fiddled around scanning scaling the A2 sheet of 1/72 scale plans (!?) down to 1/144 to supplement the more basic plans that come with the kit.

Re: James' Argosy Odyssey
I've drawn around the parts with a marker pen. Does that count? Am I allowed?

Re: James' Argosy Odyssey
Right I can see you lot are going to be trouble...
After drawing around the parts with a marker pen, making sure the ink got into the corner between the part and the base card, I scored around all the parts and snapped them away from the backing. I tried using my Olfa P cutter for this, though it worked fine I found that with an ordinary blade the parts snapped off a bit easier.
As with any vacform there are usually some problem areas where the plastic is too thin. This occurs where there are acute curves; the radome and the corners of the beaver tail loading doors. These are back filled with milliput. Any surface dints and scratches were also treated at this stage.
