Sorry no build photos because it fitted together so quick, total build time about half an hour using a tea tray on my lap watching TV.

After waiting for the glue to set I gave it a quick rub down followed by a coat of grey primer, this has shown up several bits that will need filler, so I will leave it overnight and add the filler tomorrow, this will give me time to find a colour scheme, as it’s small I might look at invasion stripes.

I have been playing on the Shark mouthed GB, doing a Blitzbau to get my mojo back, but now it's back I can get towork on the Bronco and P-38.

I have painted it green, but I'm now thinking PR Blue so I will have to pop out and get some.

I have been slacking on this GB so it’s time to catch up.

Unhappy with the P-38 in green I have decided to re-spay it in PR Blue with invasion stripes.

I first sprayed the white then masked the white and sprayed the black followed by more masking and the PB Blue.

The booms are going to be buggers to mask so I think it might be a free hand hairy stick job followed by heavy exhaust stains to cover up the bad hairy stick work.

This is sweet. I think I have a 1/144 P-38 in the stash also. This is very inspiring.

Nice stripes but I feel the cockpit is a tad sparse!

Would be neat to put our Lightnings together for a study in scale. Although I wimped out on the invasion stripes. Your's could be an underwing drone. :ha:

Rule One, when doing an a/c with invasion stripes, pick a big scale and not a 1/144 scale kit with twin booms.

Talk about fiddly masking, trying to do straight lines on irregular shaped small booms, but I’m happy with the final result only a couple of small bits that will need touching up.

As usual the gremlins get you in the end, this time they attacked my decals, the decals being very very very old, did not want to detach from the paper and when they did they just broke up. I managed to get two on the kit (in bits) and thought enough is enough lets call it a day.

Not a kit I would recommend, unless you really had to have a 1/144 P-38J.
