I had worked on the canopy, sanding out framing and bulge above pilot seat of NOVO's canopy. And I really had worked ABOVE canopy (i.e. on outer surfaces), because to do the same work BELOW (i.e. on inner surfaces) is very hard and is ABOVE my abilities. So the perfectly polished canopy looks not so clear as it should be - there are lot of scratches INSIDE it...

Salt (usually I use soda, but not this time) + Cyanoacrylate glue
Glue layer, soda layer, glue layer and so on.... to demanded thickness of detail. New radome too have this stuff inside.
BTW (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanoacrylate):
When added to baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), cyanoacrylate glue forms a hard, lightweight filler/adhesive (baking soda is first used to fill a gap then the adhesive is dropped onto the baking soda). This works well with porous materials that the glue does not work well with alone. This method is sometimes used by aircraft modelers to assemble or repair polystyrene foam parts. It is also used to repair small nicks in the leading edge of composite propeller blades on light aircraft. Note that the reaction between cyanoacrylate and baking soda is very exothermic (heat-producing) and also produces noxious vapors.

I suspect the "aircraft modelers" referred to in the Wikipedia article are the radio-control flying types who have a lot of foam components to repair.
But, hey, if it works, it works ....

Now you can see through the lovely canopy you can see those horrible Frog men! (I'll leave you to make your own jokes).

Irony consists that Dragon's Sea Venom actually on a way to me... (Besides, I send Ray of Death to director of Russian EMS who has kept a parcel with kits among which Dragon's Sea Vixen, from December, 22nd till January, 19th at office EMS in Moscow - without any reasons. Plus, book was stolen from my parcel. (Burnindo, C6N Sauin.)Image)

Therefore, I continue to chop NOVO...

Sorry to hear about your postal service problems, Novokits. If it's any consolation, it appears to be a similar story the world over.

Good progress on the Aquilon. I'm looking forward to see it finished in Aeronavale colours.

Martin
