Even if you know it will be "wrong", go with the box art mate, otherwise people will notice and point it out. At Farnborough I had at least two people point out (very nicely and politely) that I had positioned one of the cars on my SR-N4 hovercraft diorama in the wrong place - they weren't wrong either, and I had a picture of the original box art attached to the diorama, so it was there for all to see!

P.S. If it bugs you, you can always repaint it to the correct colour when you get it back after the Telford display (and UK tour next year of course ).

P.P.S. Found a photo to illustrate the point - notice how in the box art picture the green car has only just left the ramp, whereas I've positioned it a bit further away - two people picked me up on that alone (but ignored the missing van to the left - which doesn't come with the kit anyway!).

Thanks Beany that's sound advice, so I have just re sprayed the underside black.

Today I thought I would try and push my boundaries and try something new, after, a visit to the Yeovilton model show today I picked up a bottle of Edgar Brooks foil adhesive from the Little Cars stand, as Edgar said here, you get a Badger airbrush size bottle of the glue for only £2, having not tried foil work I was surprised how easy it was, I first brushed on the glue to the surface and when it dried clear, just pressed normal cooking foil down and burnished it with a q-tip and a toothpick.

It's all coming together, I worked on the base today which now shows up my less than average painting skills

My wife is off the visit her mother in Scotland tomorrow for a week so I will have some quality building time this week with no interruptions.

My next problem is. who can I post the finished item to, as I will be marching at the cenotaph whilst you are all enjoying the show.

Can some kind sole PM their address and kindly take the model to the show, I don't want it back afterwards, so it can be skipped if Airfix don't want it for their display.

I'll hang on to your model after Telford if I may Splash as we will take the whole display to the Huddersfield, Cosford and Farnborough shows in 2013 as a bare minimum, and possibly a few more yet.

It looks the Box Deluxe by the way - superb work. I love the tree - it frames and focuses the artwork really well!

Oh wow! That is really coming together now. Great artist skills on display there.

I think this is one is going to be a major crowd pleaser (once everyone stops staring at the Saturn V )

That's fine by me Al, Tom has kindly offered to take it to the show for me as we live within 10 miles of each other.

Last night I thought I would ask the wife for her view on the work so far, she took one look at it and said "the wheels should be black" Dhhhhhhhhhh how had I missed that, a quick check on the colour instructions and they say Red, but the box art says black so black it is.

This kit is still putting up a struggle the plastic is so brittle every time I stick on one part another falls off and the cleaning up of every part is starting to become a real chore.

I'm still on target to finish but I will need this weekend and some of next week to finish.

Keep at it Splash it's going to be very special once it's complete

I'm now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I hope it's not just an oncoming train
