If you are looking for blurred props....

Post by JamesPerrin »

A lot of the interest was about how we did the prop blurs and I faced a detailed debriefing by a couple of chaps about exactly what type of transparency worked in what type of printer ;-)

If you have found your way here and are looking for the images they can be found in the link below. Please read the thread all the way though but I put some newer images up in this post:

I will endeavour to print some sheets out for the Huddersfield and Cosford shows which will be available for a small donation to my beer fund ;-) These will be 12 foot diameter props in 1/72 scale. If they are other sizes that people are interested in please let me know and I generate them if there is some consensus.

Would this work for more than three blades? Id like to see it done in 1:48 for some Griffon engined spitfires.

I've made some 4 and 5 blade ones. There is no reason with using two sets of 3 bladed ones wouldn't work on contra rotating props. As to scale the limitation is the thickness of the acetate you can print on, if you have a laser printer you can use anything suitable, with the inkjet you need the specific type of transparency which is quite thin.
