Flakmonkey's whistling chicken leg **DONE**

Post by flakmonkey »

This year's victim has been carefully selected from a small but perfectly deformed pile of formed hopefuls, which for the other 11 months of the year go by the collective name of "kits I will never build". Without further ado, then, I would like to announce that I shall soon be attacking the Reliant Robin of the skies, the Westland Gazelle.

Image

I shall also be attempting a 24 hour horror movie marathon, starting with my all time favourite of all time ever (after, of course, "Baby Oil Bonanza"), From Dusk Till Dawn. Cunningly appropriate. If there's a movie you would like me to watch for you during the Blitzbau attempt, feel free to chime in here and I shall consider/ totally ignore your requests as I see fit.

It's a simple little kit, but it's also about the same size as my thumb. You may laugh, oh ye of little scales, but I could come unstuck here.

"House of Wax" added, as per Brews' excellent recommendation.

 This will prove to be interesting. Movie recommendation: Young Frankenstein. Come on, lighten up a little. After all, your build may just be Abby Normal.

So I'm trawling Amazon for Young Frankenstein and what should turn up but Dark Star. On Blu(e?) Ray no less. Sold.
Favourite Bomb #20 quotes coming to this thread soon.

Just thought of another movie. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, or "Captain, they put creatures inside of our bodies, made us do things."

I'm more of a Scifi fan then a horror fan but I have to admit I love Stephen King. Although as we all know his books rarely transfer to the big screen well. If I was to choose one of his movies I think it would fall to his TV movies which were the best. That would be It, The Stand or the Shining (Non-Jack Nickolson) from 1997. If you have to go main stream then my selection would be a combo of Horror and Scifi. Alien. As you know "In space no one can hear you scream"

Alien is an automatic inclusion. If the theme of movie night were epic romances (perish the very thought), I would find a way to get it on the list.

Got a Dell boy and Rodney for it then? :ha:

Hmm, scary movie.... Mamma Mia rates up there for me, always clears the room when the missus watches it....

Cheers

And it was all going so well, then Jim puts ideas of a Gazelle in Trotter's Independent Trading markings into my head.

Slightly off topic here, but I'd recommend thinking carefully about nose-weight as this little kit is a confirmed and devoted tailsitter.

Now, back to your scheduled discussion. :ha:

BTW, your thread title had me worried and gave rise to thoughts of a possible hospital visit for you.

Brews wrote: 16. The Mist ... ok. I stop here. This was a terrible movie.
The Mist was a great story but alas like I said earlier it didn't translate to the big screen well.

What about Outland with Sean Connery? Seems to me to be on par with Dark Star.

Let's have a look then....

Lots of good points already. Dai has suggested 1950s giant ant-fest "Them", which, whilst strictly speaking is science fiction did manage to scare the poop out of me as a small child and so if I can track it down we can have that one.

Mirrors (Brews again), which if I remember correctly is the one with Kiefer Sutherland, is indeed freaky-scary and goes into the watch pile. On the subject of Brews' suggestions, I have realised that the lead actress in "House of Wax" is none other than Elisha Cuthbert. This came to me unbidden when I remembered her role as Kiefer's on screen daughter in 24, who was the single most irritating character in history. We may have to reconsider, despite the obvious visual attractions of Ms. Cuthbert.

Paul's suggestion of Nose Weight, which I must confess to not having seen, bears investigation. So far a search of IMDB has drawn a blank. Meanwhile, Paul can rest assured that any references to musical poultry portions made in the thread title are unrelated to my physical health.

The Wrath of Khan (Jeff) and Outland (Dirk) unfortunately are science fiction and have never managed to scare anybody. Actually that's not strictly true, Outland gave Warner Bros.' accountants nightmares for months. Even so, it's bending the rules much too far. Lest anybody cries "foul!", I would point out that Dark Star shall not be making an appearance either. Don't bet against Resident Evil though.

Disappointingly, nobody has so far suggested the Japanese schoolgirls vs. zombies extravaganza "The Girls Rebel Force Of Competitive Swimmers". On reflection, that may be a good thing.
