Easily the best piece of poetry ever seen in a blitz. The only piece of poetry, in fact, but let that not detract from Jim's sterling efforts.

Modelling has been done in between bewbs, beer and currently "Bomber Boys" on BBC1 courtesy of iPlayer. Wait. Wait. I am not modelling in between bewbs. Let's clear that up.

There is currently more masking tape than model as the day-glo goes on. There are decals for these panels but they don't have the slightly faded, patchy look of real day-glo. And who doesn't love spraying day-glo orange?

Current beer is St. Peter's Golden Ale. Hopefully he will be drinking it when I meet him, in which case I may get in.

Good beverage choice.
Not so sure about that clock...it seems to munch batteries.

People keep phoning me on my clock. Most inconvenient and as Bruce points out, bad for the battery. Luckily nobody should be phoning now so all is well. On the DVD we have "The Descent". On the bench, things are shaping up. Not in the shapely fashion of Saskia Mulder, star of our current movie, but shaping all the same.

To klear or not to klear, that is the question.

I'd imagine that Klear for the decals at least is a must do, even though it's apparently partly cloudy. Which part, one wonders?

I am sitting here watching the Super Bowl and reading this thread. This has to be the most entertaining Blitz I've ever read. This may keep me up all night.

We're not too far off done. Normally I would have cleared before recalling, but in the interests of making progress I have opted for the WMD of decal solutions, Mr. Mark Softer. It's strong enough to stop silvering on a matt finish. Don't try this at home.

Once the decals have set, it's time for a flat coat and the last tiny bits and pieces.

Most importantly, we now have "The Girls Rebel Force Of Competitive Swimmers" in the PowerBook's DVD drive. Japanese schoolgirls vs. zombies. The only European subtitles are in French, so the plot is largely lost on me. For once, I don't care.

Half time in the SB so checking in. Really great stuff. "The Girls Rebel Force Of Competitive Swimmers"? How did that one slip by me.

Press on. You are nearly there.

If it weren't for the terrible light from these bulbs, I would see it off now. But I can't see well enough to do the last few bits or to clean up the transparent parts properly so I'm going to spend an hour or so tomorrow finishing off. State of play at 01:46 GMT;

Close, but no cigar just yet.

After "Girls Rebel Force" a lie down was in order. The model is indeed in the OOB scheme, the only one they give you. One of RAF Shawbury's trainers would have been nice of Airfix, but the 1980s Army scheme is attractive enough and Little Johnny likes camouflage.

Back on the case shortly after today's first job, the preparation and sending of the invoices. A man gotta eat.

Transparencies cleaned up, navigation lights clear redded, aerials attached and I'm calling it done at 9.24am.

A couple of orders of roughness more than I would have liked, but it is an unsophisticated little kit. Not an unenjoyable one to build though, and with much more care and attention than I have given it here, it would build into a very nice model. Thanks to everybody who dropped by for dropping by. Now, let's take off and nuke the site from orbit; it's the only way to be sure. Wait. That wasn't a horror movie. Oh well.

Great job, Flak. A possibly a new record of 8 pages for a blitz.

Well done.
