My choice for the Blitz is the AMT release of the Matchbox A4M.
Box art:
The innards:
Built this kit years ago when it first came out. Really liked it then and sure I will like it now.
I sourced out external fuel tanks as most photo's show Scooters with tanks. The kit provides Bullpup missles which I do not think the A4M carried as by the time the M was around the Bullpup's were retired.

Re: Jeff's Marine Corp Scooter.
Good choice. Am I missing something, or is the Bullpup under the port wing on the box art missing its forward fins?
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?
Re: Jeff's Marine Corp Scooter.
Yeah, they missed them. I am thinking of maybe white phos rocket pods in the Fast FAC role.

Re: Jeff's Marine Corp Scooter.
Production of the AGM-12 ceased in 1970 but the missile continued to be used, presumably until stocks were exhausted. The A-4M went into service in February 1971 and was equipped for the AGM-12. The Matchbox kit appears to be an early version of the A-4M as it does not have the fin tip antenna usually seen on this variant so the Bullpup may be appropriate for the markings included in the kit. Note that Matchbox appear to have missed the inboard wing hardpoints, which would often carry external fuel tanks. Max load for the weapons stations are: centerline - 3500lb, wing inboard - 2200lb each, wing outboard - 1000lb each. IIRC, you could put a 2000 pounder (free fall or LGB) on the inboard wing stations, but you had to take the landing gear doors off.

Thanks for the info, Marine. I have sourced out pylons and tanks for the inboard hard points. It's a blitz so I won't get to carried away.

Re: Jeff's Marine Corp Scooter.
So it's the original Matchobox plastic then - even in the two colours ?
Re: Jeff's Marine Corp Scooter.
Yeah, AMT re-popped a bunch of them.

Looks like the stars are in alignment for a Saturday kickoff at 0700EST. This will be a straight thru "manly-man" build of 24 hours or less. Hopefully less, far less.

Nonetheless, I'll stick my head in and check up on you ...
