You've got loads of time Steve - he's not starting it until the 2nd of November apparently :ha:

Good luck Jeff - really looking forward to this one.

Cheers
Al.

Ok, I'm up and will be starting in about 45 minutes. Bruce the shark is munching a a piece of sprue getting his teeth sharp.

November 11 indeed. We are so backwards here. :ha:

First report with one hour logged

Image

This kit is exactly the way I remember it. Fit is terrific.

Tamiya Surface Primer is used to fill some of the more prominent "trenches". Work commenced on the external fuel tanks by cleaning up the seams and trimming off two of the fins. Also, while things set up, the Zuni rocket pods are being prepared.

Image

Not much filler is needed so far. Mostly on the wing tips as the control surfaces and leading edge slats can get away with seam lines showing. Right? We will see how it looks.

First cup of Red Rose tea finished in honor of another Blitzer way to the west of me and slightly north.

Cheers

Hour two update.

Basic airframe together now. Work also continues on the rocket pods and the external tanks. Just about to my liking. Spruced up the seat with an ejection pull handle. Won't see much in the cockpit anyway.

Oooooo.....yummy for the tummy. Wait a minute.......I am "missing half a bitter" as I am listening to Jethro Tull at the moment.

Image

Anyway, the hour three update.

Image

Have the external stores racks done. This was something I thought would bust the build but they just fell together.

Image

Rubbing down the seams at this time to see if there will be any problems to correct.

Didn't we make a rule last year that Jeff has to do blitzes with one arm tied behind his back?

Looking great Jeff, the M'box scooter appears to be a pleasant kit to build, might have to add it to the shopping list :)

Hour four update

Image

Have the rock pods mounted on the racks. Offending seam filled. Landing gear sorted. Paint bottles shaken and not stirred.

Hey, Flak. If you knew how many times I have dropped parts on the carpet you would think I was one-armed today. Sheeesh!

Nice work on the stores racks, at this rate you should be finished well within the time limit.
