The Blitzbau House ***Finished***

Post by Old_Tonto »

I am delighted to announce that the Blitzbau House is returning for another episode on Sunday 12th february, 18:00 GMT. We are doing the straight 24 hours cos that's what real men do. :-D

Finnski will be joining me so it will give some of you a chance to catch up.

I will be building this: http://www.hobbyboss.com/uploads/allimg ... 611128.jpg
Which I believe is a copy of the Italeri kit but with recessed panel lines. If that is correct I am well chuffed as it costs less than £5 and the Italeri kit is the best F5E in this scale.

I bought it because I fancied doing a USAF agressor but I think I will opt for the Swiss scheme. I don't usually build grey jets but the full colour markings look cool. 8-) Decal options:

We will be joined by Paul (the host) who supplies bacon butties & has a massive TV. Him & Finnski are on a Vietnam wargames kick at the moment so expect something Nam related from them.
Last and probably least Cosmic will be abusing some plastic & his body.

I promise to supply at least hourly updates (sleep permitting :ha: )

Not a good idea, we get semi-naked at some point. There's a nice mental image to stick in your brain!

I'm regrettably thinking Marlon Brando: Apocalypse Now, times way too many.

Way to much information O-T, but I know this will be great. At least I am not the only one to build model in my underwear.

Glad to see we will have an audiance.
There have been some great Blitz builds so far & worryingly (is that a real word?) everyone seems to have finished in time.

Time for a few pre-lim shots. This is the HobbyBoss F-5E in 1/72 scale.

Image

Looks quite nice with fine engraved panel lines.

Of course I am no F-5 expert so I have no idea if the panel lines are in the right place but my previous builds have either been Hasegawa, Airfix or Matchbox so this looks like the muts nuts. 8-)

Instructions
Image

Four very nice colour options come with the kit: Brazilian, Swiss, & aggressor schemes for USAF & Marine .

I have opted for the Swiss option as it only uses two colours. A very important consideration for a Blitzbau.

I will try to post some pre-lim images of the kits the rest of the guys are doing.

We are aiming to kick off at about 7pm GMT. See you there. :party
