Its Aeromaster U.S. Interior Yellow acrylic. It does look a bit bright, doesn't it?Brews wrote:What colour did you use for yellow chromate?
I got back home at 8pm by which time the filler had set so it was on with the sanding down of filler and seams. After a wipe over with a piece of kitchen roll I was able to get the first coat of Neutral Grey on the undersides. The cowling has had a coat of Yellow too.
Just off now to put the second coat on the undersides.

It's looking good, the yellow might tone down with a quick dirt wash in the wheel wells.
Keep up the good work, I will check in tomorrow.

Tim's blitzing a jug,
Not beer, the plane you mug ,
These Matchbox kits are real fun,
Blink your eyes and Tim'll be done,
Cheese sarnies, cakes fill the inner man,
Looks like this build is going to plan,
Go Tim Go

Or not. I decided to give the upper surfaces a coat of Hu155 Olive Drab instead. At least it looks as if I've done something.TimJ wrote:Just off now to put the second coat on the undersides.
It's coming on a lot quicker than I expected, I should have the painting finished before I go to bed.

Re: TimJ's Thunderbolt
Thanks for the poem Jim.
Not a lot done in the last hour. The prop and pilot are finished and the cowling has had another coat of yellow.
I need to get the stripes painted on the fin and rudder next as they may need more than one coat.

Great colors Tim. Making great progress.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Re: TimJ's Thunderbolt
11 hours in and the engine has been assembled.
It has been fitted into the cowling and attached to the fuselage.
After a search for my masking tape I painted the first coat of red on the tail. It'll need another coat or two before I'm happy with it.
