Re: Karl's Kobrastochka - ***In Progress***
I've pulled all nighters in this game, and I've never been the same since. Mind you, I wasn't the same before. Sleep is probably a good idea. Off to a good start and even finding time to make an avant garde installation in the style of Damien Hirst out of blu tak and model parts. Impressive, and probably eligible for a £20,000 grant from the Arts Council. Totally digging the cerise bench too. Is he up yet?
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

Hi fellas
Just surfaced at 9 - thanks to alarm or I'd have been there 'til midday - LOL
After morning ablutions, back in the saddle.
I did a first coat of paint on the nose and prop spinner, and finally got to bed about 5am
This is where I'm starting from this morning.
As you can see,I've popped open a can of wake-up juice.
Rockstar Cola is a bit like Red-Bull - only err-r-r-r-r-m.......

The Blu-tack 'gumshield' is a personal little quirk that I always do - you can see it in the earlier workbench pic, back-left of the cutting pad.
And the cerise bench..... Is recycled from parts of a wardrobe/desk unit that used to be in my daughter's room

Hi Carlos
Good progress, I will be popping in throughout the day, I'm currently clearing out 20+ years of krap out of my garage and will spend most of today running back and forwards to the tip.
Regards

Interesting to see you're using Vallejo acrylics. Could never get on with those even after reading the instructions. Looks good so far.
Not because he has much to throw out, but because you can only fit a spoonful of stuff into an MX-5 at any one timesplash wrote:I'm currently clearing out 20+ years of krap out of my garage and will spend most of today running back and forwards to the tip.

Quick piccy update
The main structure is together and drying - horrible nose profile fit, as you can see, there's filler across the top - also mucho filler underneath, mainly across the rear of the wings.
Time for something to eat methinks.

Aargh! - don't remind me - got a similar job to do here - when I can be botheredsplash wrote:I'm currently clearing out 20+ years of krap out of my garage and will spend most of today running back and forwards to the tip.
Those aren't for use on this build flak - they're just in the background, under my tray of Humbrol enamels.flakmonkey wrote:Interesting to see you're using Vallejo acrylics. Could never get on with those even after reading the instructions. Looks good so far.
I bought the olive and light beige colour for a biplane I built last year - the blue was for something US Navy Pacific theatre - I couldn't get along with them either, and they've never been used since, the blue never got used at all.
I shoulda mentioned earlier, everything is Humbrol enamel, via ye olde hairy stick.

Re: Karl's Kobrastochka - ***In Progress***
I knew it - I just knew something would happen today
Gonna have to make this quick, but...
Sorry chaps, I have to abandon - Just had phone call from daughter, my grandaughter has had an accident at school.
Doesn't seem serious but needs an X-ray on ankle - and guess who gets to drive her and my daughter to the hospital.....
Isn't there a rule about two 12hr sessions on consecutive days?
May have to avail myself of that, if possible....?
Apologies guys, but I have to go......

Hope the grandaughter is OK. You were making good progress here, hopefully the chiefs will cut you a bit of slack in order to resume.

That is so true, with the top down I have stacks of head room and there are no bridges or tunnels on route.flakmonkey wrote:Interesting to see you're using Vallejo acrylics. Could never get on with those even after reading the instructions. Looks good so far.

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone.
The little-one will be fine, nothing broken, ankle just twisted a bit - she wasn't too pleased to have it strapped up tightly, but soon cheered up when she heard she would be off school for a while
Anyhoo - If it's OK with everyone, how about I recommence tomorrow? at about the time I had to call things off today..
Say, 11-ish...??
And I'll try to finish in 12hrs...
One good thing - wings and tail will be set nice and solid
