Sign-up and Chat

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

A continuation of the initial 'Automotive GB' thread from GB Chat.

Here sign-up for the Auto GB, state your entry, chat with others who are joining the GB.

Your GB Leader is JamesPerrin, who will post the details here shortly ....

And here they are, quoted from a post just down the page ...

It's an automobile GB so any civilian vehicle is eligible including racing cars. TV/film cars if they meet the basic requirement. No SciFi sorry.

I'm looking forward to seeing a wide variety of makes, scales and subject types. One of the reasons I love this forum is that already we've got some very different subjects, whereas other places I can image a lot of 1/24 Ferraris being built. I shall be starting off with the 1/76 Piccolino Lola T70 Mk3 just to broaden the scales even further. Anyone got 1/43 Heller kit?

Oh yeah, in recognition of you car bores out here :ha: for a bit of fun please find out a really boring/tedious fact about your vehicle and post it along with the finished build in the gallery.

I have a couple of Airfix 1/32 cars I'd like to sign up with. A MkI Ford Escort and a Triumph Herald.

I have in my mind to build the Top Gear Triumph Herald boat, using the Airfix 1/32 Herald, it should be a straightforward build, chop the roof add a mast sails rigging and a rudder.

Hitching a lift with a Tamiya BMW 635CSi and Revell's Porsche Carrera RS 3.0. Both "require work".

The lack of an Isetta is disappointing.

For this build I have a choice of three:

1) Airfix Mercedes 1904 from the Historic cars collection.

2) Renwal Mercedes 540-K (1939) includes it's own showcase

3) Airfix Ford Focus rally car (2001) The last one from the 3 car box set, which I started back in......

Not sure which one to go for, so suggestions welcome
