Re: Europe Models 1/32 Panhard 1891
Back again. I've rescued the body from whatever attacked it and tried a different color, Model Master Field Green. The seat is Model Master Leather with Vallejo Red Leather brushed over. The wheels started with Model Master woods, then dry/over-brushed with various Vallejo woods -- not trying for grain so much as variation.
Tomorrow I'll make sure the body and seat paint is right and then start on the trim. The wheels will get some "dry-brush" with thinned Tamiya Clear Yellow and Orange -- that'll not only add some color, but look a bit like varnish. It's about time to get the various levers, rails, lights, and details cleaned up and painted -- mostly brass.
Moving right along; should be no problem finishing this one.

Nice wood finish on the mud guards, the clear yellow orange should look great.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Re: Europe Models 1/32 Panhard 1891
Thought I'd better check back in. Admittedly I've just been puttering, but amazingly, it resulted in progress -- we're on the final lap now.
Chassis is done, wheel are done, other woodwork & metalwork is done, just not installed. The body has been touched up and is drying. I've started painting all the brass work.
I need to think about a semi-gloss coat on the body to even the colors, maybe even include the chassis, maybe even some of the non-brass, non-wood parts. Then we're off to final assembly.

I'm in the very final stages; have a bit of touch-up work on my cataract surgery tomorrow so probably no more work until Thursday. I'm working slowly, trying to avaoid a last-minute oops ...

Re: Europe Models 1/32 Panhard 1891
Sticking on the last few bits -- 2 fenders, 2 lights, one cow's tail and linkage -- then some minot touch-up paint.
The kit comes with 2 right-side lights and I had to do some shape-shifting to make a left side light; getting them on so they stay there will be the next challenge.
The rear fenders don't really have attachment points and will be interesting.
The cow's tail & linkage should be easy but must be last to avoid breakage.
Still, it'll be done in time.

Re: Europe Models 1/32 Panhard 1891
Here she is, although I have to confess that of the final 6 parts to be stuck on, only 5 made it. True to form, the linkage from the cow's tail to the front axle came nowhere close to fitting and so ....
I'm not happy with some of my paint work. I struggled to find the right green and red, not really knowing what "right" meant and then had some, shall we call them, application issues. OTOH, I think the wood wheels and fenders aren't too bad.
As you may have gathered from my comments throughout this build, this isn't the greatest kit, but it does give you something from back in the beginnings of the automobile and, being firmly rooted in old stuff, I like it for that. Anyway, I'll like having it in my showcase; now I need to get back to work and finish the 1895 version .... I also need a few late 19th Century figures; wifey commented about making a tiny lap quilt for them.
I really enjoyed the GB, regardless of my entry, and want to thank James for running it and the rest of you for such great work and participation.

A lovely bookend to the GB John, thanks for bringing it to the table.
A pretty good finish consider the effort required from the outset, what with the French instructions and all. Hopefully some of the experience can be plied back into the other kit now.
