Here's the pics.

First cut here.

Part convertable.

Careful cutting wasn't quite careful enough. Easy to sort though.

Odd Landrover fact. The first ever Landrover was built on a WW2 Jeep chassis and had the steering wheel and driving position in the center of the three front seats.

Nothing quite like starting a kit by hacking all the pars to bits

This is yet another of Heller's little 1/43 beauts.

This one is a little gem and the conversion potential is enormous as can be seen in the completed builds section. I even built one of these as an Army ambulance complete with the very different body. I don't have a pic of that but if I dig it out I'll get a photo taken of it to post up. I am really enjoying this build

All the best.

More work has been done on Rover. The wheels are being worked on and as anyone who knows Landrovers and has built this kit will know the wheels are far too narrow. I have a method for this and will share it with the pics I am taking as I sort them out.

All the best.

Slow progress on the 'Brick' but there is some. Here's a pic of my method for widening the wheels. This is made easy by the fact that the wheels are in two halves. I first glue the wheel halves to some fairly thick plastic card and let them dry thoroughly. Then cut out and sand the excess plastic to the circumference of the tyre. Then glue the front and back together not forgetting to drill out the middle of the new inner parts to accept the locating pin.

More pics of the process next week

Have you got all you wheel joined and sanded or are you planning on living up to your tag line?

I have got quite a bit done and I think if I get about an hour and a half spare I will have this one sewn up. It's assembled and painted and weathered, The specs lift is made and fitted but there are just a few little jobs to do before this one is done. Pics will be posted tomorrow.

All the best.

Well done Greg! We'll have to revoke your tagline.

Where did the spectacle lift come from?

The Spec lift is scratchbuilt from scrap, sprue and spares bits. The actual Spectacle part is the rear door top from the Landrover.
