Tim's Petite Peugeot
I'll be building the 1/43 Heller kit of the Peugeot 403. Launched in 1955 and styled by Pininfarina (he didn't just do Ferraris) it had a 1.5 litre engine and remained in production until 1966. Saloon, estate and convertible versions were available. The most famous 403 was of course the rather down at heel convertible driven by Peter Falk when he played Columbo.
Box, instructions and sprues.
It'll go nicely with the 1/43 Citroen DS I blitzed last year which I bought at the same time while on holiday in Llandudno.

Re: Tim's Petite Peugeot
I made a start yesterday. Not much, I've fitted the front panel to the bodyshell and the interior to the underside.
Next up is some painting but that may have to wait until I get my Lanc finished for the Four Engined GB.

Re: Tim's Petite Peugeot
In that shot it has a very 50's big American car look.
That blue looks hard on the eyes.
Cheers

Re: Tim's Petite Peugeot
It does look like n early '50s American car from that angle. It won't be such a vivid shade of blue when it's finished.

How are you doing with this little French gem?

Re: Tim's Petite Peugeot
Not much progress but I've got the underside painted. I may pick out the suspension in satin black to provide some contrast. I've also made a start on the wheels.
I'll need to fit some plastic card inside the wheel arches to prevent the see through look.

Re: Tim's Petite Peugeot
I've been doing some work on the interior. The colours are't particularly inspiring but it was the mid 50's.
I'll get some primer on the bodyshell tomorrow.

Re: Tim's Petite Peugeot
I took the bodyshell out into the garden today and gave it a few coats of primer from a Halfords rattlecan.
Meanwhile the interior is nearly finished and the wheels are on.
I'll be painting the bodyshell tomorrow.

It's gone blue again, but not such a vivid shade. At the moment it looks loke it's ready to go banger racing.Jagewa wrote:Its good to see that blue covered up

There is a similarity. I suppose you could say that this was the French equivalent of the A50 or Morris Oxford.
