Have you beaten the warps out your body Jim?

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
My body would take a lot of beating to get the warps out!
I didn't realise there are so many bits to clean up and paint, most of the interior and engine bits are in a grey primer on sticks.
Havn't seem to get much plastic time at the moment, hopefully get a bit done tonight.
Cheers

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
The instructions say to paint all the interior Flat black, so I looked at some online photos, I decided to go with Hu63 sand for the leather bits, Hu73 Wine red for the mats and Hu86 Coal black for the er.. black bits.
First coat of the colours.
and all the other bits,
all these undercarriage bits, no wonder I build wheels up most of the time..
Cheers

The interior looks very nice. The wine red carpets go well with the sand coloured trim.

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
Thanks Tim.
Got the engine painting done, and then added a wash. and cemented all the bits togehter..
The exhausts were the trickiest to line up, and broke from the order in the instructions, and put them on after I had cemented the mufflers in place, that way I could line them up properly.
The cabin got a wash, not sure about it though, the Klear has pooled a bit in the seat corners,
just to pop in the steering wheel, and can put it on the floor pan, then we can tackle getting the body shell beaten into shape.
Cheers

Lovely work on the engine Jim. The cabin looks fine, a quick drybrush should soon sort out the puddles.
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
Super work in the engine Jim and the wash on the seats gives them plenty of depth.

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
Thanks for that Steve, I'll try that tip on the puddles.
Just cemented in the interior..
I'll try the dry brush on the puddles, and the bit of dark puddle on the side of the passenger seat, that I didn't notice until I photographed it just now ....
I might add a couple of seat belts, as I think that is what the lumps, either side on theparcel matchbook shelf are for..
Cheers

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
Been doing some body work
Well flexing mypec plastic and working out with near boiling water
Got the rear right a lot better, it looks a tad wide, but the insert fits ok.
A bit of a twist in the front still, but I think I can clamp that out, when I cement it to the chassis.
The nose certainly lifts a bit..
Have got the gaps between the doors and body shell even. I might try to get that left hand side front a pillar straightened out.
Cheers

Worth getting the body right after that lovely work on the interior.

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
Not much done over the last week, my wife's Dad passed away, had the funeral yesterday, so first chance to get to the plastic tonight.
A bit of correction fluid filling, a sand and an overall rub with scotch brite. Shot some Tamiya fine primer over it, then knocked it over and put two lovely scratches in the still wet primer
Sorry no pics, not touching it again until the primer is set. I'll grab a piccie, tomorrow, before I rub the damaged primer back.
Cheers

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
Sorry to hear about your wife's Dad Jim. Having lost my Mum recently I have some idea of what you've been going through.

Thanks Tim.
Look a picture of an oops..
has now been sanded out and a new shot of primer is on, and sitting securely to dry.
Cheers

Re: Jim's Fe-raar-ay
Ooo a photo with colour.. well really difficult to photograph colour any way...
No red for this one... The blue is a Gunze Aquaeus blue (I don't know the number, as the label came off the bottle trying to open it a while ago)... the gold rims are Tamiya Titanium Gold X31.
I'll be leaving the body shell for a good few days to dry through, I've had problems before with Gunze Aquaeus gloss colours not drying fully before.
Cheers
