I've made a start on the Herald today. Following a poll the car is going to be finished in pale blue and white. So I need to decide on the blue I am going to use. The choices were all Humbrol paints. 47 Sea Blue, 65 Aircraft Blue and 89 Middle Blue. All seen here in that order left to right.

47 Sea Blue looks about right to me.

I have attached the axels so far and started on the engine. I don't have any pictures yet, they will follow.

I concur with your choice of blue. Glad to know you are finally underway.

OK, I'm done for today.

Tomorrow is a bank holiday in Ireland so hopefully I'll get time for some more work on this one.

Nothing much to report today. I got the engine painted.

I also painted most of the underside.

It's had 4 coats of Humbrol Gloss 22 white so far and I'm not that happy with the results to be honest. However, this is my first go with something that has this much white so it's trial and error. It's a good learning curve.

Hu Gloss White is a hard paint to work with. Patience is probably the key to success.

I agree with James, gloss white is a pig of a colour. It's not a colour to rush.

OK this is going to be touch and go as to whether or not I finish it by the deadline. I've done enough white now so this is how she sits.

Good effort, if you have a good run you should be OK.

Sadly I was not able to dedicate enough time to this group build. I will carry this one over in my workbench thread.
