Darth Vader (edible version)

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

Mrs iggie has a small business making cakes; this is her creation for a Star War themed cake:

Brilliant, well done Mrs Iggie, that is a great looking cake - it would almost be a shame to cut into it!

Thanks for the kind words; I've shown Mrs iggie and they put a big smile on her face :-D

The figure is sculpted out of icing, coloured as necessary, and then dried (in the airing cupboard!) to set it. It then became the centrepiece on a Star Wars cake for one of her regular clients!

I'm a bit worried she might have used strong bread flour in the cake rather than plain, because...

Well, it changes that old saw to

"Come to the Dark Side. We have cake."

Lovely work, though I'd be careful about the lightsabre. Considering where it is and how he's holding it, someone is going to make dirty jokes about it, you just know it...
