Pluto.....

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

Pluto.....

Post by Allan31 »

In preparation of NASA' fly-by of Pluto with the New Horizons deep space probe in a few months, I thought I would share what they will find...

Up until now, the few photos we have of Pluto are fairly low definition shots...

Image

The Hubble Space Telescope gave us not much better recently....

Image

Very soon, the New Horizons probe will start beaming back shots of the distant planet....yes, I'm old, it's still a planet...

Image

As we get closer, the images will get clearer...

Image

Soon, so much will be understood about our far distant brother in our own solar system...

Image

Then we will come to a much fuller understanding of our life here on Earth...

Image

Tens of thousands of years ago, they placed their ship in our solar system. Patiently waiting for the little molds and bacterias to grow and develop.

Knowing that one day the infant species would leave the cradle, they posted a sentinel to patiently await our arrival at the edge of our system. With the New Horizons probe, we have taken our first baby steps......

I had some of those larger Christmas balls for the helmet visors around and had just finished reading Arthur C. Clarke's short story titled "Jupiter 5". I was inspired.
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick
