Airfix 1/144 Saturn V

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

It was a struggle but nothing that a bit of black trim decal couldn't fix.

Calling this one done now.

With the exception of the Jupiter C (which is about 1/120 scale), all the other models are in 1/144 - so the size comparisons are genuine. It really shows how big the Saturn V was.

That really is a great looking collection of space vehicles Eric. The Saturn V is certainly enormous and was a mighty feat of engineering. You've got to hand it to the Americans, they don't do things by halves!

Airfix have done a reasonable job in correcting the upper section. I do think the rest of the moulds are getting a bit past it and should really be retired. Sadly, I don't see Airfix retooling the rest of the rocket.

I hope someone comes up with an SLS at some point.
