Calling International Rescue

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

Matt varnish to flatten out the decal glossiness.

The Pod also got an extra coat of green paint.

Eldest son has questioned the colour of the telescopic legs. :omg Further research will be necessary

Coming along nicely.

The legs look gold with aluminum feet.

T-2 looks really excellent now she's all decalled up and matt varnished. It's worth getting the final paint details right, which will satisfy Thunderbirds fans of all ages

The Old Gold pain has been found and applied sparingly to the legs, then rubbed in.

Then a sepia wash.

The feet were painted aluminium and then given the sepia wash treatment.

I am aiming for the characteristic weathered look which Thunderbirds vehicles had.

Great stuff, Thunderbird 2 looks good to go Mr Tracy 8-) Having watched episodes of Thunderbirds as an adult modeller it's easy to appreciate the sheer artistry that went into the studio models back then.

Derek Meddings and also Douglas Trumbull in the US were extremely talented modellers!

Autocorrect just tried to change "Trumbull" into "Trump url". It is the end of Civilization as we know it.

It might be the right time for an Anderson GB?

I think we should have one, but maybe next year to allow people to source kits from Japan if necessary.
