Marquis ship, S T Voyager
Marquis ship, S T Voyager
Here's one I did a while ago. Had a play with MS paint to give it a better background than my messy modelling bench.

Re: arquis ship, S T Voyager
Well done. Always thought this looked purposeful design and more practical than many ST ships. I like the backdrop too.

Nice job Greg!
I'm not familiar with the ship (Star Trek was never really my thing, nor the sequels etc.) but that does look good!

Nice! By coincidence, we've just started watching Voyager on Netfix, and this ship is prominent in the first couple of episodes, before running into a Kazon ship.

Nice work Greg the back drop looks spot on.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Can anyone tell me where you get Sci Fi models from.I would love to give it a try but my local model shop does not stock any.

As ever, eBay is the go-to place for them, but I think you have mentioned you are not too keen on using it (which is perfectly fair enough!)celt wrote:Can anyone tell me where you get Sci Fi models from.I would love to give it a try but my local model shop does not stock any.
Otherwise, have a look at Jadlamracing who have an online retail outlet (as well as selling on eBay), or Hannants. They are both reputable online stores, and both can be paid by Paypal if you are concerned about card security. Otherwise, try having a look in your local area for model shows or Sci-fi exhibitions and the like; you're bound to find some kits knocking around.
If you like, have a look on eBay, and if there is something you fancy give me the item number by PM, and I'll buy it for you and post it on; you can send me the money when you receive the kit
Best wishes

Re: Marquis ship, S T Voyager
Yes iggie, you are right,I do not like using eBay at all.I will certainly try your suggestions as I really want to have a go,doing the SciFi,as I have never done anything other than aircraft and afv models.Thank you for your eBay offer, much appreciated.

Re: Marquis ship, S T Voyager
Nicely done Gregers, but the pedant in me forces me to point out that it's Maquis, as in "French Resistance", not Marquis, which is a big tent.
Re: Marquis ship, S T Voyager
Quite right too Bruce. Thank you for pointing it out. All I can say in my defence is French was never my strong point at school.BWP wrote:Nicely done Gregers, but the pedant in me forces me to point out that it's Maquis, as in "French Resistance", not Marquis, which is a big tent.

And the pedant in me is forced to point out that a Marquis is NOT a big tent, which is a Marquee, but a French nobleman, of which the famed de Sade was one...BWP wrote:Nicely done Gregers, but the pedant in me forces me to point out that it's Maquis, as in "French Resistance", not Marquis, which is a big tent.

Nice ship...
