JT Graphics' 144th Squadron

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

JT Graphics' 144th Squadron

Sci-fi in my favourite scale.
From the Stash, a Type 6 Shuttle and a Runabout from the Star Trek Universe.
I'd struggle to call these proper kits, coming with only 3 and 4 parts respectively. Such is the quality of casting, that there's very little to do by way of building and the work will be in the painting.

Here they are, all primed;

They look pretty neat Bruce. You'll have to pose a fighter alongside them when they're done to show the scale. I have the large kit of the Runabout. I may have to do a What If using a Fantasy kit.
So many models, so little time.

The finished Type 6...the decals are of exceptional quality, provided you don't rub them too hard. Decals are provided for the windows and the blue engine bits, but I used H52 for the engines, 'cos I think it looks better.

I'm afraid apart from the Reliant and BoP I've never found ST vehicles particularly inspiring. These kits though are impressive in quality. I would suggest using some subtle washes on the Runabout at least as might look a little flat otherwise.

The Runabout was a true workhorse for Starfleet and so some 'weathering' will be appropriate.

More painting progress...slow and steady;

I noticed that there was a support brace missing, for the passenger pod, so I added my own from styrene channel.

I think I need to do something about those phasers as well.

I agree, Bruce. There's something not quite right about them.

(Anyone know what he's talking about? :p)
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....
