note the use of cigarette ash to make the lunar surface!

I used this article when I built the Airfix LM, Almark Modelworld was a cracking magazine cruelly scrapped after just eighteen issues due to the world paper shortage of 1973 and it has never been equalled, I must must get them off the shelf and look through them again.

Was the paper shortage caused by people smoking unprecedented numbers of roll-ups to make a lunar landscape I wonder? Image

My bible for Lunar Module accurizing is an article from a 1979 edition of Scale Models. I still have the article and it is pretty good.

If you don't want to kill yourself with lung cancer in pursuit of a better LM, why not go down the Type II Diabetes routr instead i.e. use the gold foil from Rolos.

Yes, Airfix have removed that pleasure by providing the gold foil with the latest issue!

Still worthwhile stocking up on Rolos though. You can never have too much gold foil.
