Re: Rampaging Scorpion
I built the Tarantula a few years ago and enjoyed the experience as it was something different, looking at how the scorpion is shaping up then I would probably like to build that one in the future.
I also think that Tarantula dio is visually weakest of the three, the scorpion being the best.
Great work so far.
Regards
Mark

Re: Rampaging Scorpion
Graham is painting his scorpion today. It's based on an Androctonus australis, apparently!
Not finished yet. I'll be introducing him to washes and drybrushing...
Cheers

Re: Rampaging Scorpion
Graham finished painting the abdomen and then applied a sepia wash:
Pretty effective on the bumpy surface of skorpy

I agree with Paul Wow- that's is impressive.
Did you know there is a spot in Kent England that has Small Scorpions living in an underground tunnel, when I say small they are really small and you can only see them if you use UV light to make them glow in the dark as they live in the cracks in the brickwork.

Thanks Alan, I'll show Graham. I can guess where he'll want to visit next time we visit the UK!splash wrote:I agree with Paul Wow- that's is impressive.

Re: Rampaging Scorpion
The Scorpion is finished and we had done the basic paintwork on the building. I'll dig the stuff out and do a few more photos. Scorpy turned out really well.

Re: Rampaging Scorpion
Here we are Phil.
Only one of the buildings has been finished, and then only from a few directions. Graham sprayed on the brick colours, basing it mostly on Vallejo Light Rust, with shades obtained by mixing between coats.
I then applied grey and sepia washes to the brickwork, and painted the wooden beams, windows and window frames.
