You know me by now James. When it comes to model building, I take the path of MOST resistance. :ha:

Excellent, interesting use of knitting needles! There's nothing like wrestling a large model about the workbench!

Brilliant Jeff, love seeing things put to different uses.

Now you just need to get two 737's to make a Zwilling to tow the Giglaxy glider... :ha:

Cheers

Engines mounted to the wings now. A little more seam work and it's off to the paint shop.

That beast is really coming along nicely. I like the idea for the rear engine cones

As much as you don't like making life easy for yourself, I can't help but be impressed by this beast, Jeff!
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

I was wondering what use could be aplpied to the remaining needles...Given that they're clear, they'd make a great stand!

It has been the week from hell as we had a funeral (uncle on my wife's side) and the death of a wonderful friend in the state of Maine. Did not have to travel to this one. But back on the behemoth again.

Let's see. When we last left the intrepid kit rescuer he had applied paint to the air frame. Heck, now it seems to have collected dust. :ha:

At any rate, I am on the road to completion.

After buckets of grey paint (AMC Grey or Equipment Excellence Grey or in this case Tamiya Dark Sea Grey) it is now time to gloss it up.

I have heard tell that the paint on the B-52 can add upwards of 4000lbs to the overall weight. Imagine this beastie.

While the gloss coat is setting up (I used Future) here is a shot of the wonderful DRAW decal sheet for USAF Reserve C-5A. Nice choices here figuring in the new overall grey finish on trash haulers.

I am leaning towards the Patriot Wing out of Westover AFB.

Had a great day decaling the beast. This is the first time that I have used DRAW decals.

If you have never used them here is a couple of pointers.

1. The decal sheet is solid film. The process is called Digital Silk Screening. So.....cut very close to the subject.

2. The decal film is extremely thin so attempt to place the subject in the correct position the first time around.

After that warning, apply like you normally would. I really like them.

That takes care of the port side. Starboard later tonight or in the morning.

Not my best effort construction wise but to rescue a kit from oblivion when it is OOP is great fun.

That is looking pretty outstanding and I see it'll double as a shelf for your other 1/144's.
