Jssels Galaxy quest***Finished***
Re: Jssels Galaxy quest***Finished***
The beast is completed.
Last task to perform was the towel rack antenna on the spine. Check your references. Not all had them and some had two side by side.
Here is the completed kit. The rescue was successful I would say.
I know some would say that rescuing a kit is not worth it. Just buy another. But when the kit has no future re-pop to look forward to it is so worth it. The kit was made to be built and appreciated. It also gave me a chance to do a little scratch building which I am really enjoying at the moment.
If a builder really has a love affair with the C-5 it can really be turned into somethingas it is basically a sound kit.

Brilliant Jeff and I'm envious. Can we please have a shot of it being held, just for an indication of overall size?

Can only be described as a flying whale. You've done a great job with this John.

Great job on the old bird.
Still want to do one in 72nd scale but not that resin monster.

Your wish is my command Bruce. I am standing in front of the home of Jssel's Heavy Industries.
I am also holding a 1/144 F-14 (still under construction) for a proper comparison.

Re: Jssels Galaxy quest***Finished***
Looks fabulous Jeff, really nice finish.
It's definitely big, but not as large as I'd have thought. I walked through a C-5 at an airshow in Alberta a few years ago and it was literally like a huge barn in the fuselage. Didn't someone kit this in 1/72? Now that would be big.

@Migrant. I believe there was a 1/72 Vac-Form kit. Paul Boyer of Fine Scale Modeler build it. Now that is big. His was in the Euro-1 scheme.

Aaaah...thank you Jeff.
Of course, you being 8' 3" tall isn't mentioned.
It would certainly dominate any 1/144 display.

Bruce

Neat, we could probably fit most the other 144 builds inside it ?
