Revell f/a 18c Hornet

Post by AceSeafire »

Picked this one up yesterday whilst buying some paint for my other build for this (f14).

Got started on it earlier and progress so far is good. The only issue I had was dropping the joystick and not finding it! Quick fix with some nylon wire painted black and all is fine.

I'm watching this one extra closely, 'cos I have one of my own in The Stash.

The only issue you might face is having to mix up some orange to match the decals. That said, if you get the right shade this kit looks beautiful. I even have a pic of this model as my screensaver at work.

If only it were that easy.....
I mixed up Humbrol gloss red, orange & yellow until I was happy with the shade.

I have picked up some revell gloss orange (30) as per the instructions. Hoping this is a good match for the decals as I really want to get on and finish this now, it's been too long since any progress was made!!!

Just to prove I'm still trying to finish this before the end of the gb here is a quick phone pic after this evenings decal session!

Thanks Bruce, just a bit of touch up, a gloss coat and the wingtip missiles to go and then it's done.

Although I have realised I've sealed the cockpit without a pilot and I'm going to have this 'in flight' on a stand....whoops
