7 Sqn RAF aircraft

Post by wokka »

This thread shows the aircraft flown by 7 Sqn throughout it's history. They flew 27 different types of aircraft of different Marks. I will only show one example of each type otherwise it gets silly, for example they are presently flying the Chinook HC Mk 6 but had flown the HC Mk 1, the HC Mk2 and the HC Mk4 prior to this. It will never be a complete list of aircraft as many are not reproduced in kit form.

So to start:
Chinook HC1 1982 -1994. Revell 1:48.

SA341 Gazelle 1980's - 2000's. Heller / Zevezda 1:50. This aircraft was used mainly as a light reconnaissance aircraft to check the suitability of sites for the Chinook.

BAC Canberra TT18 and T4 (used for training) 1970 - 1982. The aircraft built is a T4 that was on loan to 7 in the 1970's. Airfix 1:48.

Handley Page Hampden 1939 -1943. Sabre Kit 1:72.

Armstrong Whitworth Whitley 1938 -1939. Fly 1:72.

Handley Page Heyford 1935 - 1938. Matchbox 1:72.

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Thanks guys, it gets harder from now on because it's either biplanes with lots of rigging or the larger 4 engined bombers which will get a bit tight for space
