Re: Brickie's Fagot
The Hungarian one is my favorite but if you were to follow the theme of "Early" jets I would go with the 50's Russian theme. Either way you go I'll be following this build

Re: Brickie's Fagot
The Russian silver scheme appears to the narrow winner, so that's what I'll be building once I've finished my mini-Sabre in teh 1/144 build.

Hungarian to me is nice and different for a Mig. NMF is cool but common.

Re: Brickie's Fagot
The Sabre's as good as done, so I'm about to make a start on the MiG.
Obligatory box and sprue shots. Lots of nice surface detail, panel lines and rivets. Probably a bit too deep/big, but I like the look actually - makes an early jet like this look a bit industrial...
And the decal sheet. Loads of stencils here, not bad for OOB decals.

Re: Brickie's Fagot
Good luck with this one Brickie. I'll be watching closely as I picked one up a few weeks ago for my upcoming Mig project.

Who'd want the Korean scheme? Someone who isn't fond of decalling, perhaps?

Looking forward to this as I am doing the early Airfix one. Just looking at the sprues has got me with envy.

Re: Brickie's Fagot
It's going together well - got the day off today and the little un has been fairly self-entertaining so I've got some modelling done.
Couple of shots of the cockpit...
And then I put the fuselage together. Little bit of Tipp-Ex but no major filling needed.

Re: Brickie's Fagot
Looks good, the interior detail is certainly an improvement on the old kit!! but my jury remains out on the new style of deep panel lines. I will try one of these new Airfixes myself, once I've shifted the current workbench queens.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Brickie's Fagot
Well, this kit practically falls together, to the extent that I may even claim it as a blitz. I started at about 12 today, and here's state of play at 7pm. It's entirely assembled and has had a spray of Metalcote Polished Aluminium, followed by some thinned Tamiya Smoke to bring out the panel lines and a drybrush of Tamiya Chrome Silver over the top.

Re: Brickie's Fagot
As you can probably tell, by the way, I'm doing it wheels-up in flight. No noseweight to forget that way.

Re: Brickie's Fagot
That was a lot of fun, I may have to get another and do that Hungarian scheme. Who knows, I may even get two done for the GB!
