Brickie's Fagot

Post by Brickie »

Well, I may as well start my thread. For this GB, I will be doing the bog-standard Airfix MiG-15. I am undecided as yet as to what scheme I would do it in - I had assumed it would need to be Soviet Silver to go with the theme of the GB but following discussions in the discussions file, I'm not sure any more.

So I thought I would put it to a poll. Here are your choices:

USSR, 1950s

North Korea, 1952

Hungary, 1971

Call me pedantic, but I went for the earliest scheme.

Can't vote in the poll as there are no squares showing. But I like the Hungary scheme.

I picked one of these up a few weeks ago with the specific intention of the Hungarian scheme although the all silver USSR version looks a lot easier.

Dunno. NMF isn't always an easy thing to get right. It certainly shows up any flaws, seams and filler...

I hadn't voted myself, so I've used my vote on your behalf... :)

I voted Hungarian too, I've seen a few too many in the other two options.

It may be bucking the trend but I like the North Korean scheme & the Mig-15 made a big impact over the skies of Korea.

Silver gets my vote, all the ones I have seen are painted silver not nmf but that might just be bad restoration work.

Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......
