Right then here's the box lid and sprue shots. I may be pushing my kit assembling abilities a bit far here but lets see how it goes.





Any suggestions for the cockpit colour? There doesn't seem to be all that much information on the net, the pictures of other peoples' models seem to veer between RAF cockpit green and medium sea grey.

Amodel says Hu 145 Medium Grey, with leather seat back.

Thanks for the colour suggestions, it's appreciated. Hmm Novokits, why is the plane on your magazine cover sat on top of a pile of pancakes?

Here's where we are at the moment, it's building up much easier than I was expecting it to, enormous sprue gates and flash aside, and dry fitting the fuselage halves together they don't look like being a problem either. The only thing I'm not looking forward to now is the very delicate resin gunsight.

Here's where we're at... A few more touch ups and it's time for the sticky out bits.



The brush strokes are far less obvious in real life thankfully.

I think James Perrin may have the better kit in the AZ Model.

That is coming together well.

You can see they used the wing from the Yak-9 as the basis of this aircraft.

Did you get any further with your build?

This is where I am at the moment, all done bar undercarriage doors and aerial. I tried to get it finished last night but it was not meant to be I'm afraid. My mothers been taken seriously ill and I've had to start acting as her carer so modelling time has been a bit short between that and work, although its now incredibly precious when I actually get some time to do something. It's real stress relief to only have to worry about whether a seam line is still visible.

Really sorry to hear about your mum. Glad the modelling is providing some respite.
