I managed a little more work last night and got a coat of auto primer on.

Don't look too closely at the bomb bay. ;-) It's good enough for Government work.

Actually it looks a lot better than I expected, just a couple of areas need attention. Does anyone know what colour the wheel wells should be?

Should not be too long before I get the paint on.

First coat of silver is on.

A few more problem areas have come to light. :???:

Deal with them and try the silver again. I just want to get this completed now.

There's a Polish machine in Model Aircraft Monthly, Feb 2002 which has gear bays, including the inner surfaces of the doors, in zinc chromate yellow.

Don't know if it's the same plane Barry mentioned - but there's a pic on my thread O_T.
I mixed something similar using yellow, light grey, and a touch of interior green.

There 'tis. Not the same plane, but the same look. There a couple of walk-arounds in Google Images that show this.

Keep at it OT, as a lot of us have found out, metallic paints are a nightmare for showing additional flaws that didn't seem apparent before the paint went on!

Finally got some more work done on this old dog.

I spent some time filling & sanding more holes molded into the fuselage (why didn't I buy the Trumpeter kit? :???: ), applyed primer and then silver again.

Image

It looks a lot better now, a coat of klear is drying on it now. :)

I am very aware that we are into the last week of the group build now so won't spend too much time weathering. I need to paint a couple of panels a darker silver then a little wash to highlight the lines that I have not sanded away.

Still to do:
  • MAKE the turret fit!
Mix up some yellow chromite paint for the wheel bays
Apply decals, wheels & U\C doors
    Fit aerials & wires.
That should be enough for a week - oh and of course make a base to display it. :-D

Last night I spent an hour or so playing a game called 'Ram it in' but in the end it was worth it as the turret now fits. 8-)

Image

I am not sure if the cannons will ever move but at least I did't snap them off. :-D

Over all she is coming together:

Image

I am not sure what coloue the dome under the fuselage should be. The instructions call for black but I can't find any photo reference to confirm this. Anyone know for sure?

Hopefully tonight I will get some decals on. 8-)
