Good solution !!!

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Re: Yet another -262
So, after coming up with a winning solution to my problem I was happy happy happy.
I did still have to slice up the inside of the windscreen to be able to bend it out slightly as the plan to add a widener was a no-go.
But that worked OK and I had 2 sections of canopy in place. Gaps were filled with PVA.
The centre section of the canopy was also masked and painted.
And I then had a model looking like this.
So today I decaled, sealed, washed, sealed and matt-coted the model and set about work on the undercarriage.
I knew the 2 pins for the main gear actuators would need replacing and I did this with thin wire.
And as you can probably see, I managed to remove the locating pin from one of them when I was tidying it up.
No stress - just drill a hole for some wire.
Then drill a similar hole in the undercarriage bay to superglue it into.
If you do ever need to do this - for goodness sake stop drilling!
Otherwise you are going to ruin that nicely painted, decaled, sealed, washed, sealed and matt-coted upper wing surface

D'oh! That's so frustrating!
Still - just a small patch required . . .

Hah! Been there, done that...although I also remember that blood was involved.
You will sort it, no problem.

Bruce

Re: Yet another -262
I guess a progress report is overdue.
I plugged the hole in the wing with a piece of sprue, cut off, sanded, added a little filler and sanded. A quick coat of paint and you'd never know how much of an idiot I was.
I've added the aerial wire and have got it coming through the canopy and into the aircraft itself. I don't know if this is accurate or not, but it looks OK to me. I've also got the canopy completed and unmasked by this time.
And a home-made loop made from thin wire to finish it off.
And here we are - a Revell Me 262 A1-a
The swastikas on the tail were made from spare wing markings, which is why they are a little on the large size. There's only so much trimming you can do before making something totally unusable.
A great kit with the exception of the ill-fitting canopy.

Great result. I thought your canopy save was a very elegant solution.
Good work.
