Re: It's an old Fagot
Good work Chip, the additional cockpit and splitter detail looks good and helps to update the old beastie no end. Hey, why buy the new kit? use the Chip C update method on the old one and save ££££'s and improve your modelling skills to boot! it's a win win
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Not to mention the headaches, stress and heartache when it all goes wrong.ShaunW wrote:Hey, why buy the new kit? use the Chip C update method on the old one and save ££££'s and improve your modelling skills to boot! it's a win win
Thanks for the photo splash, it gives a better angle than the one I took at Cosford recently:

Re: It's an old Fagot
Still tinkering away at my OOB build. I have now finished the cockpit:
and completed the splitter. I have also had to scratch build a replacement main undercarriage door which went AWOL. A new light fitting for on top of the nose, and a new radio antennae which was missing from the start. I will try to get pictures up later, but the PC is very slow tonight.

Inspired progress, sir. You'll be finished in no time. It's always relaxing to do a nice oob build . . .

That looks great Chip, miles better than OOB.

Re: It's an old Fagot
Thanks guys.
Here is where she sits at the moment:
I say sits as I forgot to put some nose weight in. That is why the pilot has ejected early, so I can hopefully get some weight in under is seat. Nothing's ever easy is it?

Re: It's an old Fagot
I have been able to squeeze enough weight into the cockpit to make it sit on it's wheels. Unfortunately the pilot had to be modified slightly:
Progress is coming on at a pace, and I hope the next update will be the finished model.

Re: It's an old Fagot
I am calling this one a finished old Fagot:
Unfortunately my nice, quick OOB build became a scratch builders nightmare. It did, however gee-up my modelling Mojo as all the extra work was quite fun now I look back on it.
Due to the time spent on this I will not be able to tackle the Me 262, as planed, but I am sure I can fit it in somewhere else.

Re: It's an old Fagot
That is a great result and the extra effort you put in really paid off. Top build.
