Pre-show build thread?

Post by IronMan129 »

Hey folks!
Iv had yet another idea!
Does anyone think creating a build thread for the 2015 shows is a good idea or should we just stick to the workbench and aviation threads?

Also they have arrived!!!

Those are a great pair of CW jets Mav and I bet that Badger is quite a size! I've also been mulling over CW build threads being featured in here but I've already started my trio of vehicles (which are being refurbished with this SIG in mind) in the Workbench Window section and have doubled up the builds in the AFV section. Whilst I think there is some mileage in it, see what the others think, the threads might not get that many views down here from a lot the membership, but it's easy enough to double up as I have done, although a little time consuming. For what it's worth, I think that a few specific build threads certainly won't do any harm and if anything will help to keep the SIG area lively and entertaining. It might be worth running your idea past the admins, just in case they have any objections.

I think that if a model is built for the SIG (or with the SIG in mind) it should be displayed in the SIG area  Of course, it can be shown elsewhere (if the builder wants) 8-)
All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

ShaunW - Thanls mate, they really are nice birds!
There massive too!!!
Ahh cool, Iv been thinking about it for a while, I thaught a lot of people would think it was a silly idea.
I just thaught it was a good way of keeping the SIG active and so members could see what is being built for the shows.
Yes thats a good idea, il ask admin very soon.

Ratch - thanks for your support :), watch this space :).

Sir T - Yes another good idea :), Il see what I can do.

Reminds me, must do something with my TU-16K-10 'Badger C'.

Built and painted but from what I can remember I wasn't too happy with the paint job.

It has been on the shelf of doom for over 2 years.

I will see what it looks like over Christmas and see if it can be rescued.
Chris.

Falcon even when your not happy with it, its still 100% better than any finish I can achieve so when our TU-16's meet yours will be the winner by a mile :).

I need some advice.
Would I get away with painting the same green in the TU-16 that is applied in this Lightning cockpit:

I want to detail the inside as there are a few windows that show alot of the inside when you look at it up close.
Also I know Lightning's cockpits were mainly grey but I applied it there as a test.
