Cold War SIG @ SMW 2012

Post by Falcon »

According to the latest SMW update, the Cold War SIG is in Hall 3, Block E next to Coastal Command SIG with the full allocation of 4 tables too (12' x 6').

My recollection is that Hall 3 had a lighting upgrade a couple of years ago and had the best lighting of all the 3 halls, so good quality pictures without that orange haze. Hope all the halls have had a similar upgrade.

Now we know the space allocation, it maybe a good time to start planning a display. Any ideas on what you would like to do regarding a display Greg?
Chris.

Hi Chris.
I'm still working on that. I was thinking of a general display for this year (Unless you have any good ideas of course) and for next year a themed display. Maybe the cold war's 'Big sticks'. The Big bombers like the TU95. Tu22. B47 and B52. The V force of course and maybe a selection of the Missiles thrown in for good measure.
I have a rough draft of a newsletter drawn up with these thoughts. I should have it finalised soon. Maybe we could bring the Big sticks idea forward to this year?.

Cheers and all the best.

I am interested Bruce mate. I have had a look on their site and I will probably pass some of my hard earned their way for some WB177'bs. I have a cunning plan as Baldrick would say.

All the best.

This year it will be a general display so it's a case of 'run what you bring' Next year however there are ideas afoot that will be put to the vote for a themed display.

All the best.
