Bluesteel Fokker S.14 Mach Trainer
Bluesteel Fokker S.14 Mach Trainer
Just to prove I haven't been consumed completely by the Flight Simulator bug (see Aviation Hanger and Chat), I'm putting the Aifix Duck aside for a little while and entering this one with the CMR 1/72nd Resin Fokker S.14 Mach Trainer of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Training Command 1966:

Cool subject, look forward to the build.

A start and a stop....
Got started cleaning up the parts on the Mach Trainer. Immediately lost a control column to the work surface monster... No problem though as it's just a very small piece of rod, so plastic rod cut to the same length looks identical. The fuselage is a good fit on the top, shown here together with the obligatory resin modelling face mask:
But as for the underside, "some filler will be required" is perhaps an understatement:
However, building has now been halted as my last tube of Super Glue Gel is dried solid and it'll be the weekend before I can get some more.

Re: Bluesteel Fokker S.14 Mach Trainer
A bit more work on the Mach Trainer tonight. There's scant info on the internet regarding the cockpit of the Trainer, but I found a couple of photos of the panel and front area. So I'll scratch a few extra bits and bobs for it. The resin interior parts don't fit particularly well, although the ejector seats are nice:
I also managed to pick up some Super Glue gel from a Maplins next to my place f work so I can start assembling too

That's looking a bit crude for a CMR kit, Julian...is it a much older one?

This is a nice alternative to all the WW1 subjects. Looks like a bit of a challenge though!

I've seen Julian wrestle bigger and scarier bears than this to the ground. I'm sure he'll tame it.Gregers wrote:Looks a bit of a bear does this one Julian.

I can't find any date info on the box or instructions. But I suspect it is an early kit of theirs.MerlinJones wrote:That's looking a bit crude for a CMR kit, Julian...is it a much older one?

Yep, it looks tameable, with a few armlocks thrown in.... I just need to get the time. Work is intruding into build time againJamesPerrin wrote:I've seen Julian wrestle bigger and scarier bears than this to the ground. I'm sure he'll tame it.Gregers wrote:Looks a bit of a bear does this one Julian.
But...
I have booked the first week in May off as a modelling holiday

It didn't. Other issues intervened, so I couldn't finish on timeMerlinJones wrote:So how went the Modelling Holiday, Julian?

I hope I'll be able to finish the Mach Trainer on my Workbench thread.
