Anyone got or remember the Marshall Cavendish partwork?
14-part, day-by-day account, etc.?

I've been reading my copy and found it very inspiring and also very time-travelly. At the time, I was a student in Manchester and remember the many heated debates about the pro's and con's of the conflict. (I was and remain in the pro camp).

Scanning eBay, Amazon and Abebooks, it seems complete copies of the partworks are available at very silly, low prices. I recommend a purchase and also the Falklands: Aftermath, to complete the reading.

Bruce

So there I was, scouring Google Images for pictures relevant to my builds, when up pops a picture of a Warbirds Illustrated...Doh!
What I needed was on my bookshelf all along.

I'm doing a project at work at the moment relating to less conventional means of delivering 'aerial effects' and someone dropped the May 2011 issue of Air Forces Monthly on my desk - not sure if they knew that there was something of interest to me in it or it's just that my desk was closer than the magazine library...anyways, there is an interesting article on the Argentinian conversion of a C-130 to a bomber during the misunderstanding with Great Britain in 1982. Not only did they get it to work but they actually flew at least one mission with it and, while the one bomd that did hit didn't explode, their score was no worse than the flight of Canberras that followed up and which also only scored one hit, also a UXB. The attacked vessel, a 322 metre tanker was subsequently sunk by her owners as a combination of an oil tanker and two UXBs is not a particularly good one.

I'd be quite keen to take part in this GB but simply don't have the time til after the beginning of June but I thought the pictures with the article might interest someone still considering a suitable build for the GB (the magazine itself has some great images of Argentine aircraft then and now)...

This jacked-up bomber might go nicely alongside Bromo's jacked-up fighter...?
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

Some great Harrier Gr3 pics I found on the net. Much of this detail is also applicable to Sea harriers.
