SAS Jeep colours

Post by DH-Drover »

I am building the Tamiya SAS Jeep but I'm unable to find an Humbrol equivalent for Tamiya dark yellow.
Ideas please.

According to the Humbrol site, HU83 Ochre is a match.
Hope that helps.

Dai,
The 'official colors' for the desert were Light Stone or Portland Stone or some variation of them; we'll ignore the other colors like slate, grey, etc ... And very little was painted to standard ...

Mike Starmer is the best source and he gives the following Hu mixes:
Lt Stone: 74+26 at 8:1
Portland: 196+74+34 at 7:2:2

Regardless, by the time you heavy weather them - you won't recognize what is underneath ....
John Ratzenberger :???:
It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.
