IBG 1/72 Chevrolet C15 No.11 cab Watertank
This has been taking up space on the shelf for far too long. A lovely little kit, but tricky to get the cab to sit on the chassis right. I also made the cab roof removable. Mine is. of course a battered desert example, to go with my little battered desert dio base.

Cool little dio. Did you find some AM number decals that small, or are those kit decals?

Another excellent result! The little dio looks even better in this scene than it did with the Grant.

A delightful little build and the diorama sets it off a treat
Best wishes

Thanks for the comments, I feel I'm getting my mojo back at the moment. The Airfix Katy might be coming down the dio road soon.
The decals are from the kit 59North. I was going to add 7th Armoured insignia as well but my last two disintegrated in the water. It's a surprisingly complex little kit and needs a bit of work on the suspension and cab underside to get everything to sit right.

Very nice, and figures are top notch!
Re: IBG 1/72 Chevrolet C15 No.11 cab Watertank
Great build of a much needed subject but IMHO IBG didn't do a good job on the wheels. If you are prepared to sacrifice an Oxford die cast CMP C30 Bofors gun tractor you could get a much better set of wheels. Another option is to borrow a wheel and cast your own for personal use only mind!

Thanks again guys, glad you like it.
You're quite right about the wheels LarryH57, when I first looked at this kit about 5 years ago I fully intended to sort them out. Then a lot of things intervened and when I finally put it together I just thought 'sod it' and left them. As it happens though I am currently sorting out the wheels for the Airfix K2 ambulance so if I'm still in the mood after that may adapt the unused spare from the IBG kit and cast some new ones up.

Re: IBG 1/72 Chevrolet C15 No.11 cab Watertank
I wonder if there are any after market wheels for all the IBG CMP truck kits as at the moment that are all short wheel base and as photos will show the wheel size was smaller than the 3 ton CMP and even in reality looked quite strange against the standard wheel arch in the cab designed for all variants.
Re: IBG 1/72 Chevrolet C15 No.11 cab Watertank
I see that The Plastic Model Soldier Company has just released a set of 1/72 scale CMP 15 cwts, so it will be interesting to compare them. From what i have seen they are CMP 13 Cab vehicles and generic so may need a bit of work to make them either Chevrolet or Ford. But it is amazing that after all the years of having nearly every type of German vehicle available in quite good detail that no one has thought to do a CMP 12 or 13 Cab 3 ton GS truck in 1/72
