Trumpeter 1:35 T-62

Post by Canuck2016 »

Good day all!

This is Trumpeter's 1:35 T-62. A very nice, problem-free kit (although I did mess up the sag on the indie link tracks; my fault, not the kit's!). The way it appears here is out-of-the-box except that I replaced the plastic unditching beam with a twig I found outside :???:. A nice feature of this kit is that the tyres are moulded separately from the wheels, so they can be painted without any need for masking. The fit is very snug, so they look like one piece once they're together. Thank you, Trumpeter!

The model was painted overall with Krylon "Hosta Leaf" from a spray can, and weathered with artist's oils and pigments. The tracks were painted flat brown, then dusted with pigments. The high spots on the cleats were picked out with a soft graphite pencil.

Have a great weekend!

Very nicely done Canuck, I do like the T-62 as a subject. Separate tyres for the wheels are a bonus that one doesn't usually get on AFV kits!

That's lovely! Really well weathered, and the log looks spot on; even the marks in the bark look to scale!
Best wishes

Jim
