Well this was a quick and easy build, I had never seen this vehicle before until I seen the kit at a show so as it looked interesting I picked it up and paid for it of course then took it home with me.

Well done, Mark -- you not only have a good pink paint job, but it is faded, dusted, and weathered quite well.

If I could make a suggestion - the MV-lenses (or whatever) simply do not go with a vehicle in that situation or condition - they also should be dusted down. In fact a crew may themselves cover or muck them up simply to prevent glare or reflection. IMHO.

I too have this! Unfortunately, mine has been sat in a 95% complete state on my Shelf of Shame for about two years. I just need to add the stowage and equipment and give it a good weathering.

Having seen your great effort, I'm not sure whether I'm inspired to finish mine or worried that it will not bear comparison.

I know what you are saying John and I total agree with you... I did actually try dulling down the first set of main headlights but I just couldn't get them to look right. I also couldn't find a lot of decent colour reference photos of these vehicles in situ but the ones that I did seem to show the lights were fairly clean( but maybe not as clean as my depiction of them) so I wasn't too bothered with the second set being as they were but lost out with accuracy as they are not the correct shape, that's not to say though that I wouldn't have another go at them at some point.
The headlights are actually 4mm clear gems used for card making and I cut off the side lights on the model and used 2mm clear gems which were then painted with Tamiya clear orange on the front and Tamiya clear red on the rear.

Yes the base has been getting a lot of use lately and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it got a little bit more use in the weeks to come , though I might move some stones around on it to make it look a little bit different...lol
The only things added to the kit were... Tamiya tape straps for the petrol cans, whip aerial and replacement lights.
