Superb work Ian; many of the close up shots could easily pass as being of the real thing
Best wishes
Jim

Re: 1/35 Tamiya T-62A
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I didn't do a build thread as if was a quick build. The kit flew together and I used a bit of photo etch on the grills, etc. The bars around the turret are just bent bits of copper wire and the machine gun in the turret is a syringe needle glued with CA glue. I also added the fuel or oil pipes on the small tanks on the sides made from copper and the log at the back is a dried twig I found in the garden sanded with my dremel to size. Finally the antenna is just a piece of copper wire.
Cheers

What a great job. Love those older Tamiya armor pieces.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

I dunno if its just me but the light wood base for me distracts. it was the first thing my eye was drawn to. but thats just a small observation.
otherwise the painting is faultless

Excellent work -- the dark setting and photography really make it stand out.
Kind of agree with JamesValentine, a gray street base would have complemented quite well.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Thank lads. I agree about the base but the reason I use the oak bases is purely because I have loads of pieces of oak flooring in my shed and I am just using them up. Also I did this was a fast build and as a bonus they are easy to dust! That pleases the wife and keeps me in her good books.JamesValentine wrote:I dunno if its just me but the light wood base for me distracts. it was the first thing my eye was drawn to. but thats just a small observation.

It's also annoying that you did this as a "fast build" My fast builds at least look it.
