Tamiya 1/35 Schwimmwagen Type 166

Post by PTB11 »

This is the later tooling of this kit, which, having built the older version, I can say is worlds apart from its predecessor.
The detail is excellent and the fit is typical Tamiya.
Although I'm calling this complete, you may notice there is no steering wheel. I haven't lost it, it's just that I'm going to add a driver at some point and need the wheel removed to get him in.

Beautiful, and as you mention way better detail than their earlier release.

I do like the old Schwimmy, I've built a couple of the old tool one but that is superb! not just the improved detail but the painting and weathering are spot on! 8-)

....in fact there is a Commando comic cover I saw today that would go nicely in the 'One for the books' GB......Stoppit! I'm overloaded in my head already!

Another stunner from you Paddy, beautifully painted, weathered and photographed. I have this later kit in the stash myself. I think you and Mark (Titan) have set the bar so high with military vehicle builds, I daren't put one up now :ha:
