Italeri 1/35 Chevrolet gun Tractor (240)
Fundamentally the same kit(without the trailer of course) as my previous build and thus exactly the same to build.
Regards
Mark

Another superb build Mark, you really are on a roll with military vehicles at the moment! These Chevy tractors have a certain brutish charm to them I think. A bit like a bulldog or Frank Bruno!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

The weathering on this is so realistic you have to look twice to make sure it's a model.

The scale effect is astonishing.

Mark, great work. I love the dirt in the wheel arches which is very realistic!
BTW - I have one of these from Airfix in my stash in the loft bought for 99p 30 years ago from a WH Smiths sale. I have not looked at it for some time now but I seem to remember there were surplus parts in the Airfix version of this kit that provided a CMP 15cwt cab - in which case it could serve as the basis for a 3 tonner truck conversion especially as the Field Artillery Tractor wheels are the right size. No doubt the more recent issuers have stopped that idea!

Thank you very much gentlemen for your great comments on this build.
I can tell you Larry that this boxing from Italeri also has surplus parts to make a cab so it would be possible to make the conversion, I wouldn't be able to tell you if this is still the case for any later boxing's from Airfix though.

Excellent, even to the accumulated dust in the spare wheel.

Titan,
Out of interest what colour did you use on this kit, as it looks beautifully faded. Did you apply the proper colour and fade it with additional weathering?

Re: Italeri 1/35 Chevrolet gun Tractor (240)
I used Tamiya XF62 OD straight out of the bottle as a sort of base coat before using a mixture of two colours these were Xf 62 and XF60 dark yellow at a ratio of 6-1 and XF62 and XF2 white at a ratio of 8-1. Once I was happy with the fading I used a couple of applications of a brown filter over the top before sealing in with a gloss coat. After the decals were applied and sealed in with a matt varnish the whole model then got a very weak mix of Tamiya Buff to blend everything in.
