ESCI/Aurora 1/72 Elefant
ESCI/Aurora 1/72 Elefant
Still dabbling in "Braille Scale" armor pieces. This time is the old ESCI mold re-popped by Aurora in the 70's of the Elefant. Of all the ESCI pieces I have build, this one seems the nicest of the releases. Lots of detail while molded in, popped out nicely with washes and dry brushing. A real plus was the thin vinyl tracks that fit good and looks the part. Two-part epoxy glue was used to put the two ended together.
The base was made from furniture sliding pads which, to me, are ideal for this scale.

beautiful little Elefant there and so clever an idea for the base.

A well executed model, and a good idea for a base.
I wish, that I knew what was doing!
Re: ESCI/Aurora 1/72 Elefant
That's a beauty and very nicely presented.

Brilliant build, great idea with the base, what type of paint did you use?

Hi Alan. Tamiya paints throughout on this project. The dark green squiggles were done by dappling the paint on with a micro brush that dentists use. I drew the pattern on with a pencil and applied the pant over the lines.

That sounds like a great technique I must try.jssel wrote:Hi Alan. Tamiya paints throughout on this project. The dark green squiggles were done by dappling the paint on with a micro brush that dentists use. I drew the pattern on with a pencil and applied the pant over the lines.
